Summary
The IT Security Specialist is responsible for protecting the organization's computers, networks, and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses or attacks by cyber-criminals. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Developing and implementing security policies, protocols and procedures,
Conducting regular system tests and ensuring continuous monitoring of network security,
Ensuring all personnel have access to the IT system limited by need and role,
Identifying vulnerabilities, assessing potential impacts, and developing plans to mitigate risks,
Providing technical advice on IT security to staff and management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field,
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred,
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in information security,
Strong understanding of firewall technologies, IP networks, and network security methodologies,
Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
