Summary
A Lean Portfolio Manager is responsible for aligning strategy with execution by applying lean and systems thinking approaches to strategy and investment funding, Agile portfolio operations, and governance. This role helps ensure the organization's investments are effectively managed and that they deliver value to both the organization and its customers.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic themes and portfolio vision,
Facilitate portfolio-level ceremonies such as Portfolio Sync, Budgeting, and Roadmapping,
Oversee the implementation of Lean-Agile principles and practices across the portfolio,
Manage portfolio flow by tracking initiative progress, prioritizing work items, and ensuring resources are allocated efficiently,
Coordinate with Product Management, Release Train Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery of key initiatives,
Drive continuous improvement through the analysis of metrics and feedback to improve processes and outcomes,
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field,
Certification in Lean-Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe SPC, LeSS, Kanban),
Proven experience in portfolio management within an Agile environment,
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial management,
Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills,
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
