Summary
The System Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and ensuring the optimal performance of computer systems and networks within an organization. This role involves maintaining system security, performing regular backups, and providing technical support to users.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.
Manage user accounts and access controls.
Monitor system performance and provide troubleshooting support
Ensure security of systems and data through firewalls, encryption, and other measures.
Perform regular data backups and recovery operations.
Implement software and system updates to improve security and functionality.
Collaborate with other IT staff to develop and implement new technology solutions.
Manage network servers and technology tools.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 3 years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Unix.
Familiarity with various network configurations and protocols.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MCSE) are a plus.
