Roles drive everything else in StackFactor, including assessments, skill gaps, and development plans, so it's important that everyone on your team has the right one.
Team members choose their own roles, first while setting up their account and later from their talent profile. As a manager, you review their roles and approve changes.
How team members set their roles
- 1Open Development Hub and select My Talent Stack.
- 2Open the + menu and choose Update assigned roles.
- 3Describe your responsibilities, add your roles, and use Set as primary on your main role.
- 4Click Save. Depending on your organization's settings, the change applies right away or goes to your manager for approval.
Review your team's roles
- Open Strategy and select Organization to find a team member, then open their profile to see their roles. No role means they haven't picked one yet.
- If you manage users, User management (under the gear icon) shows everyone's role in one list, and you can search it by role name.
Approve role changes
- 1Click the bell icon to open Notifications. Requests that need your review appear under My Tasks.
- 2Open the request to see the proposed responsibilities and roles, each marked as added, removed, or unchanged.
- 3Click Approve or Decline and add a short comment.
TIPS
- If someone has the wrong role, ask them to update it from My Talent Stack. You'll get the request to approve.
- When someone's roles change, so do the skills they need to assess.
