Everything in StackFactor is built on roles. A role is a bit different from a job title or a job description: it describes the work you actually do every day, and the skills that work requires.
Once you have a role, StackFactor knows which skills to assess you on and what level to aim for. Your development plan is built around it.
What's in a role
- A Summary of the role, with its Responsibilities and Qualifications and Requirements.
- The Skills the role needs. These are the heart of the role.
- References to supporting material.
How a role describes each skill
For every skill, a role sets:
- Proficiency — the level the role requires: Fundamental Awareness, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert.
- Importance — how much the skill matters for this role, from Very low to Critical.
- Assessment Interval — how often you're reassessed, from every month to every two years.
- Assessment Type — whether you can choose between a self-evaluation and a quiz, or must take the quiz.
Your roles
You choose your role when you first set up your account. You can have more than one, with one of them as your primary role. To see or change your roles, open Development Hub, select My Talent Stack, and choose Update assigned roles from the + menu.
