IT Product Architect — SAP focus
Information & Technology > Application/Web DevelopmentSummary
The IT Product Architect is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining, aligning, and evolving the technology architecture and strategic roadmap for one or more SAP-centric IT products within Ericsson's global Enterprise IT landscape — particularly those supporting finance, project, and sales & distribution processes across 200+ company codes in SAP S/4HANA. This role bridges business strategy, product ownership, and delivery execution by translating complex, multi-country finance requirements (including IFRS 15revenue recognition, varying legal/supplier formats, and purchasing categories) into stable, innovative, and efficient SAP-based solutions. The IT Product Architect ensures architectural coherence, drives continuous improvement, supports operations during incidents, collaborates closely with Product Owners and development teams, and positions the product(s) for automation, scalability, and integration with SAP BTP and SaaS platforms—ultimately enabling Ericsson's internal IT to deliver a future-ready platform that balances global standardization with local compliance and operational agility.
Responsibilities
Align, groom, and refine business and functional requirements with stakeholders and the IT Product Owner to ensure clear, prioritized, and architecturally sound specifications.
Define, align, and maintain the technology architecture strategy, principles, standards, and multi-year roadmap for the assigned SAP product(s), focusing on S/4HANA finance, project, and sales domains.
Collaborate with Solution Architects and development teams to translate roadmap into feasible technical plans, provide architectural guidance, and support planning, estimation, and follow-up activities.
Engage with Operations teams during production incidents or major issues to perform root cause analysis, recommend architectural improvements, and prevent recurrence.
Drive and follow up on continuous improvement initiatives across the product area, including automation opportunities, performance enhancements, integration optimizations, and modernization efforts.
Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise standards, SAP clean core principles, BTP extensibility patterns, and integration requirements for SaaS platforms and global finance processes.
Support governance activities by contributing to architectural reviews, risk assessments, and compliance with IFRS 15, local legal requirements, and Ericsson IT policies.
Facilitate knowledge sharing, best practice adoption, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain high architectural quality and accelerate delivery.
