Summary
The Wintel Systems Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows-based server systems and associated software within an enterprise environment. This role ensures high availability and optimal performance of various applications on the Windows platform.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Windows server environments including hardware and software.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure security and availability to users.
Implement system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and other Windows-based services.
Ensure backup procedures are followed and tested regularly for effectiveness.
Collaborate with network engineers and cybersecurity teams to ensure overall IT infrastructure integrity.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, System Administrator, or similar role with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
Strong understanding of Windows Server technologies and infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
Knowledge of scripting languages for automation tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively.
