Understanding Tasks and Alerts

StackFactor keeps you and your manager informed with tasks and alerts: a skill that's due for reassessment, learning that's coming due, or a request waiting for your approval.

You'll find them in two places: the bell icon at the top right of every page, and your dashboard. In the app, alerts appear on the To Do tab.

The notifications panel

Click the bell icon to open Notifications. The number on the bell shows how many items you haven't seen yet. Notifications are grouped into four tabs:

• My Tasks — things that need your review or action, such as approving a teammate's request.
• To Do — tasks and important alerts from StackFactor, such as a skill that's due for reassessment.
• Status — requests you've made that are waiting on someone else.
• Watching — updates to the roles, skills, and content you follow.

Act on a notification

• Click the links in an item to go straight to the role, skill, assessment, plan, or person it's about.
• If an item has more details, open them to see what you can do.
• Use Approve or Decline to answer a request, or Cancel to withdraw one of your own. You'll be asked to add a short comment.
• Click an item's icon to Mark as read or Mark as unread, and use Delete to remove it.

Your dashboard

My Dashboard pulls the most important items together:

• Learning Tasks Summary — anything overdue, what's due in the next 7 and 30 days, and a Continue Learning button for what's up next.
• To Do — a card for each to-do item. For a skill that needs reassessing, click Start to begin the assessment. For anything else, click Open.

Follow roles and skills

Want to know when a role or skill changes? Turn on Watching from its card in the Capability Map, and updates will appear on the Watching tab.

Choose how you're notified

3. 3Choose which notifications you get by email, phone, and instant messenger.
