Skill templates come with their proficiency levels and microskills already written, so you don't have to start from a blank page.
In the app, importing is called Start from a template.
BEFORE YOU START
- You need permission to author content (Author content or Promote content). If you don't see the red + button on the Skills page, ask your StackFactor admin.
Import the skill
- 1Open the Capability Map and select Skills.
- 2Hover over the red + button and choose Start from a template.
- 3Search for the skill, select it, and click Select. Templates you've already imported don't appear in the list.
- 4Review the skill on the Add page. Microskills that came with the template are marked Imported and locked. You can open them to see their details.
- 5Click Save. You'll see New skill created.
Publish it
The skill is saved as a draft first. Publish it to make it available to your team — the steps are in How to Customize a Skill.
TIPS
- Importing a role also imports any of its skills your organization doesn't have yet, so you often won't need to import skills one by one.
- AI authoring tools aren't available for skills that come from a template.
