Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Information Technology > Software development methodologies

Description

The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a systematic process used by software engineers to develop, maintain, and replace software systems. It involves several stages including planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Each stage has specific tasks and deliverables that feed into the next phase. SDLC ensures that high-quality software is produced according to specified requirements within budget and timelines. It also helps in managing the complexity of building software and improving productivity and efficiency. Understanding and mastering the SDLC skills can significantly enhance one's ability to deliver successful software projects.
