UI Design Fundamentals

Information Technology > Graphical user interface development

Description

UI Design Fundamentals is a skill set that focuses on creating user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing interfaces for digital platforms like websites and mobile apps. It involves understanding basic design principles, color theory, typography, and grid systems. As one progresses, they learn to create wireframes, prototypes, and complex user interfaces while considering user-centered design and accessibility standards. Advanced skills include conducting usability testing, analyzing user research, and staying updated with the latest trends in UI design. Expertise in this field can lead to leading UI design projects and mentoring junior designers. Proficiency in UI design tools is essential at all levels.

Expected Behaviors

LEVEL 1

Fundamental Awareness

At this level, individuals have a basic understanding of UI design principles such as color theory, typography, and grid systems. They are aware of the tools used in UI design but may not be proficient in using them. Their knowledge is mostly theoretical, with little to no practical experience.
