Information Technology > Database management system

Description

Oracle skills encompass a wide range of technical abilities related to Oracle Database, a popular relational database management system. These skills start from understanding basic Oracle concepts and SQL queries to creating and managing tables. As proficiency increases, one learns advanced SQL queries, performance tuning, and backup techniques. Advanced users can design databases, implement Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), and use Oracle Data Guard. Experts master the Oracle Exadata Machine, Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data integration, and Oracle Enterprise Manager for database management. Each level of proficiency requires a deeper understanding of Oracle's complex systems and tools, enabling efficient and secure data management.

Expected Behaviors

✎
LEVEL 1

Fundamental Awareness

At this level, individuals have a basic understanding of Oracle databases. They are familiar with the concepts and architecture of Oracle, know the basics of SQL, and understand the different data types used in Oracle. However, their knowledge is mostly theoretical and they may not have much practical experience.

🌱
LEVEL 2

Novice

Novices can perform basic operations in Oracle such as creating and managing tables and writing simple queries. They have an understanding of Oracle's security features and can use the data dictionary. However, their skills are still limited and they may need guidance for more complex tasks.

🌍
LEVEL 3

Intermediate

Individuals at the intermediate level have a good grasp of Oracle and can write advanced SQL queries. They can implement indexes and sequences and are familiar with backup and recovery techniques. They also have some understanding of performance tuning in Oracle.

⭐
LEVEL 4

Advanced

Advanced users have a deep understanding of Oracle and can program in PL/SQL. They can design and implement Oracle databases and have experience with Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard. They are capable of handling most tasks independently.

🏆
LEVEL 5

Expert

Experts have mastered Oracle and its associated technologies. They have a deep understanding of the Exadata Machine, GoldenGate for real-time data integration, Advanced Security Options, and Enterprise Manager for database management. They can handle any task, no matter how complex, and can provide guidance to others.
