Oracle Database

Information Technology > Database management system

Description

Oracle Database is a powerful relational database management system that offers a broad range of features for data storage, retrieval, and manipulation. It uses Structured Query Language (SQL) for database interactions and provides advanced tools for performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability. Oracle Database also supports programming in PL/SQL, a procedural language extension to SQL. Advanced features include real-time data integration with Oracle GoldenGate and comprehensive management with Oracle Enterprise Manager. Mastery of these skills enables the design and implementation of complex database architectures, ensuring efficient and reliable data management.

Expected Behaviors

LEVEL 1

Fundamental Awareness

At this level, individuals have a basic understanding of Oracle Database concepts and architecture. They are familiar with SQL basics and data modeling concepts. They understand what relational database management systems are and how they work. However, their knowledge is mostly theoretical, and they may not have much practical experience.

🌱
LEVEL 2

Novice

Novices can install Oracle Database and perform basic SQL queries. They understand Oracle Database security features and can create and manage tables. They also know basic backup and recovery procedures. Their skills are still developing, and they may need guidance when dealing with more complex tasks.

🌍
LEVEL 3

Intermediate

Intermediate users are proficient in advanced SQL queries and can design and implement Oracle Database schemas. They have experience with performance tuning and understand Oracle Database replication. They can perform complex backup and recovery operations. They can handle most tasks independently but may still need help with high-level issues.

LEVEL 4

Advanced

Advanced users are experts in Oracle Database administration and PL/SQL programming. They have experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and can design and implement high availability solutions using Oracle Data Guard. They understand Oracle Exadata Machine. They can handle complex tasks and solve most problems without assistance.

🏆
LEVEL 5

Expert

Experts have mastered Oracle Database performance tuning and are proficient in Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data integration. They have a deep understanding of Oracle Database internals and can design and implement complex architectures. They have experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager for comprehensive management of Oracle environments. They can handle any task or problem, no matter how complex.
